What is kettlebell training all about? This may help!

Published on 10th Jan 2011 at 21:15 by Admin

Ok i have been posting articles / programmes to the people who do and know about kettlebell training, but here is one for the people who want to know more about what we do at kettlebellsireland!

A kettlebell is a handheld weight, which looks like a bowling ball with a handle attached. They come in different weights, from 4kg's - upwards. You will be given a weight which suits your strength/level, but this will change as you progress.

At kettlebellsireland classes, your first session is usually an induction, where the focus is on saftey, technique and less on the workout. The workout comes soon enough. We do movements that target the full body, lifting, pushing, pulling, pressing, swinging as well as others. Your trainers will always be watching and advising during your training sessions. You also get to train with a group of like minded people where there is serious training, coupled with fun.

What benefits will i get from training with kettlebells?

  • Fat burning
  • speed up your metabolism
  • Weight loss
  • Flat abdominals:)
  • Toning all muscles
  • hypertrophy,
  • Get stronger,
  • Get quicker
  • Get more mobile
  • Reduce risk of injury
  • Improve sports performance
  • Get more powerful
  • Improve coordination
  • Strengthen your heart and lungs
  • Improve your stamina
  • improve your grip/forearm strength
  • strengthen your shoulders, low back and core
  • reduce the likelihood of low back pain
  • Short, fast high intensity sessions
  • So less time in the training room
  • strengthen your bones.......

Ok the list goes on, but you get the idea now? The main thing is that you will have fun :) So get off the couch, cancel that gym membership and get kettlebell training.
